Estate Planning in Chico, California with Experience You Can Trust

Joe at his desk working with a client

I specialize in Estate Planning, Trusts and Trust Administration, Probate, Wills and Litigation. While I reside in Chico, California I am able to provide remote services as well.

I graduated from Stanford University in 1962. Immediately after graduation, I began Officer Training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Six years later, after serving in the Air Force I decided to pursue a law career.

My legal education began at University of California Hastings College of Law, graduating in 1971. Shortly thereafter, I was admitted to practice law in California effective January 1972. I practiced criminal law for a number of years, as court-appointed counsel representing indigent clients.

While the work didn’t pay much, it provided me a great opportunity to become proficient and comfortable before a judge or jury. While I found this experience valuable, I decided that concentrating on estate planning was my preferred area to practice. Not surprisingly, I have become very good at the process over those many years. Thinking through almost every type of legal issue, from wills and trusts to probate and litigation, has afforded me a deep understanding of the legal process. I am happy to assist clients where I can to provide peace of mind about their estate plan. If I can’t I will direct you to a trusted colleague that can. Other areas of my practice are:

  • Personal Injury
  • Real Estate
  • Family Law
  • Business Issues

If you are looking for estate planning in Chico, California with an attorney that values building relationships with his clients, listening and communicating, I am the attorney for you! To get to know me better, you can read up on my blog mentioned below.

My guiding principle in law, as in the rest of my life, is what I have come to call “Life in the Flow Lane.” The flow lane is the concept of dealing with life in a way that will deliver the greatest result with the least stress. You can read more about this in my blog, hope to see you there.
